Japanese culture, music and art is widely promoted overseas and it's rather easy to capture the attention and interest of foreigners who find the Japanese culture cool, exotic and interesting. But we believe that it is even more important to promote the culture in Japan. The younger generation tends to focus on new foreign trends and do not know much about the traditional culture and arts of their own country.
That is also one of the main focuses of Ethnopunk project and its musical journey

MK short profile & credentials:
MK is an artist, musician, ethnomusicologist & co-founder of Ethnopunk AFK Music Project. He graduated with a master degree in Ethnomusicology at UCC ( University College of Cork) in Ireland and his main instruments are Japanese shamisen and Slovak overtone flute fuyara. He has performed in Japan, India, Australia and Europe, collaborating with many world-wide musicians.
